about loren

Artist | Muralist | Maker

Hello, My name is Loren Pease. I’m an artist, muralist, maker, beekeeper, former high school art teacher, and mom of three boys in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

I have painted in many public and private facilities around the country. Some of my favorites were in hospitals such as Duke children's hospital. Having colorful murals in sterile environments while children sit for hours getting chemotherapy is incredibly transformative! It makes these places so much more welcoming and less intimidating. I truly believe art and music is powerfully therapeutic. The doctors and nurses share with with me that patients love the murals. They often make up stories about the art on the wall, naming the characters and imagining themselves as part of the story created in the art.

As my career has progressed, and more jobs are presented to me, I have thought deeply to find my personal motivation in my career. Ultimately, I love creating things but find the most satisfaction in evoking emotion and hopefully bringing others joy. Beginning with my high school art teaching career in 2000, I have always enjoyed spreading creativity throughout the community in which I live - or “pollinating kindness with art.” I taught my students all different media, including ceramics, jewelry making, drawing, and murals.

The colors, shapes and the magic of living things all inspire me to pour every ounce of my spirit into all of my work. My goal is always to delight my customer by creating something that invites the viewer to pause, think, reflect, and connect with the yumminess of nature and life.  It is my hope that bits of kindness are pollinated with each piece of art that I share with the world.

I look forward to hearing from you!
